The ezdsp5535 will be the engine for a line of AW with 5.1 and even 7.1 playback capabilities, as the C5535 DSP has 4 I2S ports. Plans are underway to use the expansion port of the ezdsp5535 to connect to external DACs such as PCM51xx to confirm 32/384 capabilities and the SQ.
3. Capture Widgets:
This is in the conceptual stage.

This version has gracefull degradation with skip/insert and a lowered risk of audio buffers coming out of sync (i.e. it sets playerStarted to FALSE sooner and more often than in previous versions.)
There is still some optimizing to do in that area (ref. Frodo's mail yesterday). I'll look into that once I know this code base tests OK on other systems than mine and for a long time.

I will release source soon, it is quite a mess right now, but you can download compiled .elf for test here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/h3jki4aqnk8s0 ... t.elf?dl=0
I2S connection is the same, oscillator 44/48 switch is on PA08. You need to get full 24/22 MHz clock to the MCU, so get rid of the D-flipflop divider.
It isnt perfect yet (as I said), some wild metallic sound appears once upon a time (maybe some task priorities? it is builded on old experimental from 2013 i think...I was too lazy to download new firmware), but generally it is working.
What I changed:
Removed flipflop clock divider...why is it here anyway? Accoring to datasheet MCU can do up to 50 MHz on OSC1.
Core freq is now AVR32 maximum, which is 84 MHz, instead of 66 MHz.
Power manager driver is modified, so FPBA is also full 84 MHz.
Power manager GCK dividers.
USB descriptors are modified.
USB endpoits sizes are modified.
Host is now sending data every uframe.
some buffers and other miscellaneous stuff...

The computer should now detect the new hardware and install a generic driver automatically (No setup or driver disk should be required).
