E' solo un problema "geografico": il PC si trova in tavernetta, non ci arriva la linea telefonica nè un cavo ethernet

perché non usi il WiFi?

Dovrei comprare un modem/router aut similia atto alla funzione, la mini-ITX non ha nulla integrato ... certo che forse andrebbe meglio del cavo attorcigliato ...

se hai già un buon modem/router ADSL, ti conviene prendere un router WiFi senza modem ADSL, che colleghi via Ethernet al modem/router che hai già. Per la mini-ITX, basta una interfaccina WiFi USB (prendine una di quelle con l'antennina, NON di quelle minuscole che se non hai l'AP a due passi non funzionano... ed assicurati che sia supportata da Linux, ovviamente!).

Come modem ADSL ho la Vodafone Station, che ha anche il canale WiFi.

Altrimenti seguirò il tuo suggerimento per le interfacce WiFi USB, ho visto che si trovano a pochi euro

Hi guys,

I have routed the complete AB-1.12 prototype board (just one trace
missing). This means I'm ready to order it from a PCB foundry in a day
or two. But before that I'd like to know who wants one. Regardless of
what you've written to me before, here is the procedure:

- Write an email to <a href="mailto:borge.strand@gmail.com?subject=Order AB-1.12 Count">borge.strand@gmail.com</a>
- Subject: "Order AB-1.12 Count" where Count is the number of boards you want
- Wait for my confirmation with exact amount
- PayPal the correct amount to me
- Board arrives in the mail

You may wonder what this costs. A rough estimate tells me the price
per board will be around USD50-60 including shipping worldwide as a
letter. It is expensive because it includes custom XOs. But the more
buyers, the cheaper the boards. I plan to do this board as a one-off,
so now is your chance to get one.

Here is what the package will contain:

- Improved front and back plates in shiny red color, holes for SPDIF and CAT5 on the front
- Interface to the same box and module as AB-1.1
- Three regulators designed by Demian and Oneoclock
- Room for PCM5102 where ES9023 used to sit
- Two loose Golledge XOs, 22.5792 and 24.576MHz
- Room for I2S output over CAT5
- Room for SPDIF output
- Room for ES9012/18 DAC chip, headers for PSU and IVC
- All headers (except module) on the same 2.54mm grid for easy veroboarding

I will update BOM lists etc. All components should be easily available
at DigiKey or similar.

It is a prototyping board compatible with today's AB-1.1.

It can do USB -> SPDIF & I2S out. And it can do USB -> PCM5102. And it is a tweaking platform for USB -> ES9012/18 and new regulators.

Si. Windoze non supporta nativamente UAC2, solo UAC1. La buona notizia è che un driver UAC2 per windoze (con interfaccia ASIO), gratuito ed anche open-source ora c'è. È stato sviluppato appositamente proprio per il widget:

Grosse e grasse novità, due (nuove schede) al prezzo di una!

Hi guys,

inspired by Demian I have made two last-minute changes to the AB-1.12.

The first is to add synchronous binary counters to divide down MCLK from the XOs. Divisions from /2 to /256 are now available on SOIC packages. More relevant divisions are available on 100mil headers. These may find a role in synchronous power supplies, alternative XOs etc.

The other addition is the most significant one I decided to put in a whole 'nother prototype board, the AB-1.13. It is identical to the AB-1.12 except for the primary audio DAC being AKM's AK4430. Demian likes the sound of it. And I'm pretty happy with the way the layout turned out. This DAC has a charge pump like the PCM5102 and ES9023. But the pinout lends itself beautifully to star-gnd / star-power.

AB-1.12 and AB-1.13 will be sold as two naked boards in one bundle. One front plate and one back plate will also be part of it.

As it stands right now, the $50-60 price I guessed at first seems to stand. That price includes shipping and ONE of each of XOs at 22.5792 and 24.576MHz. It is easy to throw in TWO of each XOs, but that will jack up the price a little bit.

At the same time as I receive the AB-1.12/13 proto boards, I hope to also get a new batch of assembled+tested USB-I2S modules. I will open up for orders for those after I'm comfortable with the quality.

I have also started work on a new complete DAC, AB-1.2. But until then there is a lot of DIY potential in the available units. The prototype boards are not assembled. They come with the crystal oscillators. The USB-I2S Modules are fully tested and assembled.

Now, my buffalo II is running a 100MHz crystal so I guess I need to purchase XOs. Any suggestion? Tents clocks are DIL8 so they won't fit on the board ...
